The Amazing Secret of Misspellings Posted By : Nickjett

Sunday 30 March 2008 @ 10:03 am

I want to illustrate a method i use (over and over again) to get products cheap that you can resell. Getting products is important. Very important.Let’s say that you are interested in buying and selling real estate instructional materials. That’s a good choice. Why Because there will be large divergencies between value conceptions. somepeople will highly value a course like this - and some won’t. Theyare cheap to ship, have high resale value and so on. Great. Well, it just so happens that one of the big “gurus” in that filed (in the USA) is a guy called Carleton Sheets.Look at the name V-E-R-Y carefully. Why? Well, You’ll notice that it is spelt weird. It’s an odd name. Or at least his first name is.What am i getting at? Well, it means that his name often gets misspelled. And that spells opportunity for you.You see, What will often happen is that someone will list their “old and dusty” course on the website and will unwittingly (or accedently) misspell this author’s name. In fact, they will often misspell titles, other author names, and tons of other critical things. Now let’s take your average guy that is searching for a real estat course by Carleton Sheets. Waht does he do? Well, he will… 95% of the time spell the name correctly. And that means that the “misspelled” courses will often be underbid by a large amount.A “correctly spelled” course will maybe sell for $150. But you may oftenfind thata course which is “misspelled” will get far fewer hits from bidders hence will be underbid and hence may only sell for a fraction of the price. And that obviously spells profit for you.Don’t get me wrong: this may not happen all the time: you might not always get a misspelling - not every day. But accross niches, you really can find them all the time.
